Matthew Morbello, J.D.
Chief Compliance Officer and In-House Counsel

Mr. Morbello is the Chief Compliance Officer and In-House Counsel for BeneSys, Inc. He is responsible for overseeing the internal processes for promoting and ensuring that BeneSys complies with laws and regulations related to employee benefit plan administration. He also advises senior management on risk management and internal reporting programs, communicates with his colleagues on legal developments and regulatory changes and serves as a resource for plan managers on issues that arise in their work for client benefit plans.

Prior to joining BeneSys in December 2015, Mr. Morbello was a shareholder at Beeson, Tayer and Bodine, APC, with offices in Oakland and Sacramento, California, where he represented and advised a number of multiemployer welfare and pension trust funds for close to 20 years. His duties included plan design and qualification, provider contract negotiation, litigation and general advice to trustees and professional staff.

Mr. Morbello is a longtime member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and Employee Benefits Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association. He received a B.A. from Swarthmore College, an M.A. from the University of California, San Diego, and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
